A 457 Deferred Compensation Plan allows public employees to defer some of their current income. These contributions and earnings grow tax-free until they are withdrawn. Distributions can be taken when you leave City employment or the year you reach age 70½, if still employed. This plan is open to all full-time and regular part-time employees of the City of Marquette.
A 457 Deferred Compensation Plan Information Day has been scheduled, to give you the opportunity to meet with financial advisors from the following authorized vendors:
Nationwide Retirement Solutions............... Christopher Minkin
Valic...................................................... Paul Storm / Craig Storm
FTJ FundChoice Retirement..................... Daniel Emmendorfer
ICMA-RC...................................................................... Bill Jordan
WHEN: October 2, 2019
WHERE: City Hall, Baraga Gym
TIME: 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Representatives will meet with you to enroll you in a plan, or if you are already a participant, to discuss your investment options and any changes you may wish to make. You direct which fund(s) to invest in, and taxes on earnings are deferred until the funds are withdrawn. Saving is made simple by authorizing an automatic pre-tax deduction from your paycheck.
This is the only time this year representatives will be here at the City of Marquette. Appointments must be scheduled through Human Resources. Appointments are limited to 15 minutes per employee. If you need a longer appointment, please schedule the appointment outside of your work hours.
