Election Worker Requirements

The ability to move and lift ballot bags, supplies and voting equipment with weights occasionally exceeding 20 pounds.
The visual ability to read precinct lists, applications to vote, and ballots, as well as the ability to complete other clerical work as assigned.
The ability to deal with the public in a courteous, patient, and efficient manner.
The ability to sustain long periods of sitting and standing throughout the day.
Must satisfy state and local training requirements prior to Election Day.
Must be able to work the full shift, as assigned. Election workers report to the precincts at 6 a.m. and workers are expected to stay until all work is completed following the 8 p.m. close of polls. Breaks are scheduled throughout the day, as determined by the Chair. Depending on the election, shifts may be available throughout Election Day.
