The City of Marquette would like to inform the public that beginning on Monday, April
20, 2026, the Multi‑Use Pathway along Lakeshore Boulevard will be temporarily closed
to through traffic between Wright Street and Hawley Street. In addition, the south
parking lot located along this stretch of Lakeshore Boulevard, adjacent to the multi‑use
path, will be closed during this period.
This temporary closure is necessary to accommodate ongoing groundwater cleanup
efforts at the Cliffs‑Dow site. The closure is expected to remain in effect for
approximately four days, through Thursday, April 23, 2026, weather and site conditions
permitting.
The multi‑use pathway will be reopened to pedestrian access during evening hours.
Pedestrians are asked to use caution while traveling in the area and to follow all posted
closure notices and warning signage.
The City appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation as this important
environmental remediation work is completed.
